Bonza, Australia’s newest low-cost airline, has officially launched its Sunshine Coast to Melbourne Avalon route. This is a landmark moment as its the first service established in Victoria. This state will eventually act as a secondary base.
By the end of March, the airline will begin flying out of its Melbourne base. Melbourne Airport, where flights will go on sale, and 737 MAX aircraft will be based.
A direct three-times-weekly service will be launched and can be purchased via the app. Bonza has moved away from typical booking services with websites, instead opting for a similar model to that of Uber, where it’s done directly through an app.
Today is a significant milestone as we get wheels up into Victoria for the first time. South East Queenslanders can now fly direct to Avalon for a wide range of holiday experiences in Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Great Ocean Road. Likewise, Victorians can now fly direct from Avalon to the Sunshine Coast to visit loved ones and take a well earned break.

Bonza says flights went on sale last month for as little as $79 per person one way.
