Aircalin is pausing flying with its next-generation Airbus A330neo as scheduled maintenance is being conducted and thus grounding the jets temporarily.
The new Caledonian carrier confirmed that work will be conducted on its two A330neo jets, which it took delivery of not long ago.
However, Aircalin is aware of the importance of this plane for its fleet and is certainly moving forward with great emphasis on launching new routes. Therefore, it’s being careful about the maintenance work.
Aircalin confirms that while it’ll pause flying with the A330neo, it plans to do this through a staggered approach to ensure one unit remains in the airline’s operation.
Moreover, to maintain its flight schedule, it’ll partner with Hi Fly to take on an Airbus A330-200 and continue operating during the peak summer season, commencing July 1 and concluding September 7.
As confirmed by the carrier, the drafted A330 will operate across the airline’s international network, including Singapore, Sydney, and Papeete. Meanwhile, crews will try to present a familiar experience throughout the cabin classes.
Work being conducted on the Aircalin Airbus A330neos centres around the C Check. This occurs when a new plane is delivered to an airline and, usually, after two years, comes in for routine maintenance.

The program ensures that Aircalin has fit and working aircraft that can continue flying until their next important scheduled maintenance. This means the carrier can comply with regulations in place around the world.
The Aircalin Fleet
Aircalin’s fleet consists of just four aircraft, three of which are listed in service based on data provided on May 7, 2025.
The A330-900, part of the A330neo family, carries the airline’s widebody operation. Two of these planes are part of the business, and if the carrier can connect New Caledonia to the world, it will have achieved its mission.
F-ONEO was delivered to the airline in July 2019 and named Kanuméra. Meanwhile, F-ONET is the airline’s second A330neo, which was delivered in September 2019 and named Luengöni.

Just one other aircraft remains active: F-ONEA, an Airbus A320neo delivered in December 2023 and given the name Noumea.
According to the latest fleet data, Aircalin’s other Airbus A320neo-registered F-OTIB, which was delivered in December 2020, is currently parked.
