Airbus has published its orders and deliveries for August 2025, revealing a new aircraft order.

The deal, which was placed on 22 August 2025, is from an unidentified customer and is for seven high-capacity A350-1000 aircraft.

The high-capacity model has been enjoying strong performance across 2025, significantly outpacing the A350-900 with a total of 69 orders to date, up from 12 for the A350-900.

In 2025, the A350-1000 received five orders from Lufthansa, which were placed in mid-January as part of efforts to enhance the airline’s widebody fleet moving forward.

Meanwhile, British Airways further develops its A350 fleet thanks to IAG, with a deal for a further six of the A350-1000 being confirmed in the first week of March.

Other orders came from EVA Air, which committed in March, similar to British Airways, to six more of the high-capacity model to elevate their long-haul fleet and harness growth and renewal ambitions.

Some of the largest orders came in April and June; however, China Airlines purchased ten of the A350-1000s in the second week of April, as they intend to replace aging widebodies and move ahead with a more streamlined fleet composition.

Late June also saw confirmation arrive from all Airbus operators of STARLUX, based in Taiwan, who ordered 10 A350-1000s to complement their existing A350-900s and enhance their long-haul operations moving forward.

The largest order in the year thus far for this A350 model, however, has been from the upcoming Riyadh Air, which purchased 25 of the aircraft in the middle of June at the Paris Airshow.

Away From The A350-1000 Order

Across the month, the planemaker was able to report gross orders for 99 aircraft, which was largely driven by a significant order being confirmed from Avolon.

The Avolon deal included 75 of the A321neo and another commitment to the A330neo for 15 units, bringing the yearly total orders for the A330neo already up to 90.

Aircraft deliveries also reached 61, with 39 customers taking on new aircraft, bringing the total for the year to date to 434, nearly 400 off the end-of-year goal of 820 commercial aircraft deliveries.

Analysts argue that the planemaker has an uphill battle if it wants to make the yearly delivery target, which represents an increase from 2024 but also follows years of perfromance targets not being met for several reasons.

While 2025 was expected to be a more stable year, it has been anything but that for the planemaker as it has struggled to achieve any form of stability.

Ranging from engine woes that have prevented production from occurring at a stable rate to the late delivery of key fuselage parts and even seats, it has not been smooth sailing. Maintaining the output rate necessary to meet targets has been an even larger challenge.

  1. The title is so misleading. This article is about the Airbus A350-1000’s 2025 orders and deliveries, not new order.

Incorrect, there is a new order, but instead of keeping the article to just two lines I added some backgrounder.

  2. I am glad and happy customers can travel in a safe aircraft which are Airbus a380 neo, a350900, a3501000, a330neo etc. Airbus must be careful there is no sabotage of airbus aircraft while being constructed and while in operation.
