Air Canada Announces Motorcoach Service

Air Canada has announced a new motorcoach service across Ontario to boost connectivity to and from their key hub of Toronto Pearson.

Air Canada has announced a new partnership with The Landline Company to ensure airports in the Hamilton and Waterloo regions enjoy better connectivity.

Notably, the enhanced connectivity will be towards Toronto Pearson, one of Air Canada’s primary gateways to locations worldwide.

As a result of the latest announcement, customers can now, on a single itinerary, combine Air Canada flights with motorcoach services for a more convenient journey.

Set to begin in May 2024, Air Canada says the pilot project will launch from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and the Region of Waterloo. However, permitting a successful launch phase and long-term benefits, this has the potential to be expanded to more locations across Canada.

A Premium Experience

Ultimately, the motorcoaches will offer customers what Air Canada describes as a premium experience with the touring coaches based in Quebec. 36 spacious leather seats inside the coach in a two-by-one configuration.

Additionally, Air Canada says all coaches will have free WiFi power, a tray table at every seat, and overhead storage space for carrying baggage.

Meanwhile, for accessibility, announcements will be made in English and French, with lastly, a power lift available for customers requiring aid with mobility.

The Process Explained

Due to the partnership, Air Canada says Landline will offer customers six non-stop round trips per day towards Toronto Pearson, each originating from airports in Southern Ontario.

Essentially, those that start their journey at Hamilton or, generally, Waterloo Airports will check in for a flight as usual, collect boarding passes and then board a branded motorcoach. Checked baggage will also be loaded onto the bus.

Once the bus makes its way to Toronto Pearson, passengers can proceed right to security screening, and all bags will be directly transferred to the respective onward connecting flights.
