Air Algérie Orders A330neo + A350

Air Algérie has announced a deal with Airbus to acquire new widebody aircraft. Airbus will support the fleet growth plans of the customer through this deal.

A firm order consists of seven new aircraft and includes the A330neo and A350 aircraft.

The airline will officially take five A330-900s and two A350-1000s. The -1000s will significantly aid them in fleet capacity, and growth plans thanks to its enhanced passenger capacity.

Air Algérie has 51 aircraft in service spread across the 737NG, A330 and ATR 72 aircraft families. Therefore, a commitment to Airbus’s next generation of aircraft is significant for the national carrier.

Operating savings from flying the two aircraft will amount to 25% lower fuel burn per seat. Additionally, there’ll be greater flexibility thanks to the acquisition.

  1. Hi DJ,

I think it would be great if you did a video on MEA – Middle East Airlines Lebanon. It had a long rich history operating some unique aircraft and showing resilience during difficult times.

    • Maybe one day mate, although for sure I’ll feature them here on the website where I can get into smaller carriers and or news that I don’t have time to dedicate a video too.
