Aegean Airlines Airbus A321neo

Aegean Airlines has confirmed an order for additional Airbus A321neo aircraft, evolving its commitment to the popular single-aisle jet.

Eight aircraft have been added to the airline’s backlog, bringing the order book to 60 A320neo family jets. 37 of these have already been delivered and play an integral role in day-to-day flying.

Aegean Airlines describes the latest purchase as crucial for expanding its fleet in the coming years and enabling efficient travel for decades.

The A321neo is seen as the versatile leader in the single-aisle sector. This high-capacity variant of the broader A320neo family has experienced soaring sales and deliveries in the last couple of years.

We are delighted that AEGEAN has once again chosen the fuel-efficient A321neo. This decision underscores AEGEAN’s commitment to operational excellence and enhancing the passenger experience. We value our collaboration with the largest Greek airline and look forward to continuing our partnership, supporting their growth plans within Europe and beyond.

Airbus says it’s pleased with this commitment. It believes that the A321neo will prove integral for future flying at Aegean, which has already experienced what the A320neo family can offer.

The A321neo offers customers significant cost savings over previous generation jets. The aircraft also has better performance metrics, which is natural with any new iteration of a commercial aircraft.

Airbus confirms that more than 6,800 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by more than 85 customers, a staggering total that emphasises the importance of this aircraft in the aviation industry now and for decades to come.

The Aegean Airlines Fleet

Fleet data indicates that Aegean Airlines has 54 aircraft in service, with 12 units parked, bringing the total to 66.

The company operates with just the Airbus A320 family, including some of the current gen models, which are beginning to get on in age, alongside the commitment to the next-generation neo model.

48 of the airline’s 66 planes are for the A320 series, with the remaining commitments for the high-capacity model. This reliance will grow gradually in the coming years.
