Etihad Airways is making history with the announcement that it’ll become the first airline to fly from the Middle East to Luxembourg.
Service is slated to commence on 29 October 2026, following the new announcement, and will be served with the newly delivered Airbus A321LR from the airline’s hub in Abu Dhabi.
Deploying the state-of-the-art A321LR on the airline’s network clearly shows what the jet is capable of, while remaining a single-aisle jet and thus very flexible across the network.
Not only is launching this service the airline’s first to Luxembourg as a Middle Eastern carrier, but it’s also the only airline to offer a nonstop flight between Luxembourg and Abu Dhabi, a crucial new link.
Etihad Airways says it has been seeing growing demand for travel across Luxembourg, particularly in the Benelux region, and, given France and Germany’s requirements for air connectivity, there’s a strong appetite for the airline.

Service is expected to operate three times a week as EY51/EY52. Etihad Airways says flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 0245 and arrive in Luxembourg at 0655, operating on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
EY52 serves as the return leg, departing at 0935 and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 1905, all times local to their respective airports.
Indeed, much of the excitement is on the Abu Dhabi-Luxembourg link; however, there’s also a lot to be excited about for onward connectivity and what this will bring for Luxembourg moving forward.
Etihad Airways explicitly highlights passengers’ ability to connect onward via Abu Dhabi to popular destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, and India, among others.

For those travelling towards Luxembourg, the airline is now also pleased to offer flights to this special European gem, known for its castles, world heritage sites, valleys, and more.
