SAS has confirmed a massive expansion of service in time for the Summer 2026 schedule.

The carrier calls the move a bold decision, but one that’ll ultimately see it offer its most comprehensive program ever, with more flights to existing destinations and new routes alongside all-new cities.

SAS says the expansion isn’t limited to one specific market; this is thanks to connectivity boosts towards Europe, North America, and Asia, in a move to enhance Copenhagen as a core part of Scandinavia’s global aviation hub.

The carrier confirms that from 2 June 2026, it’ll begin a five-times-weekly service from Copenhagen to Mumbai to meet growing demand in India that can be served.

Istanbuil will begin being served with daily flights as of 26 March 2026, right in time for the winter-to-summer schedule changeover, with these flights originating in Copenhagen.

The company also states that it’ll launch Copenhagen to Riga flights on 8 March 2026, with three flights daily to meet growing demand.

Next, Copenhagen will be connected to Luxembourg with twice-daily flights, with a commencement date just one day after the Riga flight on 9 March 2026.

SAS will follow this launch twice weekly, flying between Copenhagen and Bordeaux as part of an enhancement of service to France, followed by twice weekly during the peak season, only service to Marseille from 22 June 2026

SAS adds that Visby will receive thrice weekly flying again only during the peak season from 22 June 2026 as well.

The last new routes, including six new destinations, will be Stockholm to Madrid, commencing on 29 March 2026, with twice-weekly flying.

Lastly, Oslo to Hamburg will see flights operate twice a week with serviice set to commence on 30 March, 2026.

More Changes From SAS

SAS says that with the addition of two more Airbus A350s, there are now more destinations that can be launched alongside overall better connectivity than ever before.

The airline’s President and CEO, Anko van der Werf, states that their goal is to provide customers with an unmatched level of choice and flexibility, which demonstrates their commitment to growth.

In addition to the new routes and cities, the airline has committed to increasing the duration of some services that currently run only during peak months so that they will operate for the entire season.

The changes will occur on the following routes: Copenhagen–Ålesund, Copenhagen–Edinburgh, and Copenhagen–Thessaloniki.

Next, more than 30 existing routes are set to see frequency increases as demand significantly rises, including Berlin, Budapest, and Seoul, among others.

Enhanced services from Stockholm, meanwhile, will be present in Paris, Oslo, and Brussels, to name a few, with more flights. Oslo, meanwhile, will see additional flying to Brussels, Dublin and Reykjavik.
