Etihad Airways has confirmed the expansion of its presence across Italy as demand skyrockets.
To meet the growing demand, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier confirms that it will double the number of premium seats it offers soon.
Etihad Airways confirms that to help with the strong demand, it’ll increase frequency between Milan Malpensa Airport and Abu Dhabi, offering triple daily flights.
The carrier also confirmed that double daily flights will be provided between Rome Fiumicino Airport and Abu Dhabi, its home city.
While connectivity will be better than ever before to Italy, not just from Abu Dhabi but global destinations across the Etihad network that leverage the airline’s geographical positioning to reach markets, there’s also an appetite to bring people to the Middle East.
In comparison to demand between these two markets since 2023, there has been a 76% rise as more people choose the UAE as a destination to travel, and equally, Italy becomes a desirable market to visit.
Etihad Airways says that consistent growth is being seen, and this reflects well on Abu Dhabi, which is working its way to becoming not just a global hub but also a destination that people want to visit.
Etihad Airways In Italy
Thanks to the changes that will take place, Etihad says it’ll offer more than 10,000 weekly seats between Abu Dhabi and Italy in each direction. This is a staggering 80% capacity increase of its own from the end of 2023.
Premium seats will also double as the airline sees an increased level of demand for upper-class travel. As a result, the company will offer 1,000 seats per week across the segment.

However, while the strengthening of its own network captures headlines, its partnership throughout Italy is also important for passengers’ journeys beyond their end point with Etihad Airways.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier mentions partners such as ITA Airways and Trenitalia, which allow passengers to reach 14 domestic airports and 31 railway stations across Italy from Rome and Milan.
Codeshare partnerships are a huge benefit to customers travelling on airlines like Etihad Airways. They make booking services and flying easier than ever before, and they can sometimes be enough to push a prospective customer to turn into a paying one.
