Virgin Atlantic has returned to Canada for the first time in over a decade with the relaunch of service to Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The route will connect London Heathrow with Toronto Pearson, offering greater connectivity to North America.

According to the airline, Toronto is known as the capital of Canada from a financial and tourism perspective. Therefore, it is a perfect place to recommence flying towards the country.

The Boeing 787-9 will operate daily service, with a significant number of flights from the beginning of recommencement. 165,000 customers will be transported annually alongside 20 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Toronto Pearson now forms another integral part of the airline’s Transatlantic network, which continues to grow in presence and importance.

In the airline’s most recent financial reports, which finally indicated a profit after years of struggle, the carrier highlighted how nearly a 1/3 of its revenues came directly from the United States market.

These flights to Toronto aim to bring traffic between the two popular cities, inbound and outbound, and to give Canadians access to more markets.

Virgin Atlantic highlights how, through London Heathrow, seamless one-stop connections can be achieved to multiple cities in India, South Africa and Middle Eastern markets, thanks to the well-established codeshare partnerships.

Those codeshare partnerships are highlighted further for customers travelling to Canada with an expanded codeshare relationship with WestJet, enabling seamless onward connectivity to more markets across the North American country.

Canada, we’ve missed you! It’s been more than a decade, but we’re back and here to do it properly. I’m delighted to see Virgin Atlantic’s return to Toronto, a city with so much spirit and energy. With our incredible crew, exceptional service, and a strong network of partners, we can’t wait to welcome customers onboard.
