United Airlines is expanding its international network as it gears up for the remainder of 2025.

The U.S. carrier says it’ll become the first airline to offer nonstop service between the United States and Adelaide, offering up to three weekly flights on a seasonal basis.

These new flights will debut on December 11, 2025, as part of an effort to meet the majority of peak seasonal demand for the festive season and subsequent summer holidays that stretch into January.

United confirms that the aircraft selected to operate the service, similar to most Australian flights, is the versatile and reliable 787-9.

A move to begin service to Adelaide reaffirms its commitment to Australia. Finally, it will offer nonstop connectivity between South Australia and the United States, eliminating the stopover typically at a city on the East Coast.

Other United Airlines Adjustments

United Airlines isn’t stopping at beginning service to Adelaide in Australia; it’s also making other changes to international flying in response to demand.

United will become the only U.S. airline to offer daily flights to Bangkok, Thailand, with the deployment of its 787-9 Dreamliner on October 26, 2025.

Meanwhile, set to begin on October 26, 2025, United Airlines has committed to being the only U.S. airline to offer daily nonstop flights with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Manila in the Philippines is next on the airline’s list. One day prior, on October 25, 2025, the airline confirmed it’ll begin flying a second flight between San Francisco and the capital of the Philippines.

United Airlines says a Boeing 777-300ER will operate the service, which will now give customers greater flexibility for their travels between the United States and the Philippines, with more flight choices at various times of the day.

United also says a new flight will launch to Hong Kong this fall, with tickets available for sale towards Adelaide and Manila. However, tickets for service to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City will become available later.

By launching all these routes, United Airlines confirms it will now offer flights from the United States to 32 different cities across the Pacific. This mammoth commitment cannot go unnoticed, given that it’s four times that of any other airline based in the same country as United.
