Air Canada is beefing up its schedule to Europe and plans to launch service between Montreal and Edinburgh.

The new route, operated by the 737 MAX, will see nonstop connectivity launched between Montreal (YUL) and Edinburgh (EDI) on June 26. However, Air Canada says the route will be launched on a seasonal basis until September 7, 2025.

AC936/AC937 is now the designated flight number for this service. Departures from Montreal will occur on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 2150, and arrivals are scheduled for the following morning at 0920.

Air Canada says it’s excited to add nonstop flights between Montreal and Edinburgh, which are the only nonstop flights available to customers seeking to fly between the popular cities.

The Montreal-originating service will be able to complement the existing seasonal services from Toronto Pearson. However, this is not the only change the flag carrier will be making to its schedule towards Europe.

Air Canada Makes More Changes

Edinburgh seasonal flights from Montreal are just one of the many opportunities for the Canadian flag carrier to fly across the network.

Three new flights will be added from Toronto Pearson to Paris Charles de Gaulle. These new flights, which will depart on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, will beef up the airline’s schedule tenfold.

Moreover, 10 weekly flights from Toronto will complement the 14 weekly flights from Montreal, signifying the importance of connectivity between Canada and France.

Meanwhile, Athens will see two additional weekly flights from Toronto, with departures on Tuesdays and Fridays. Additionally, these flights have been extended on a seasonal basis until October.

The new flights will provide a well-rounded 10 weekly flights between Toronto and Athens and 10 weekly flights between Montreal and Athens to meet demand.

Lastly, Air Canada has committed to offering up to four additional weekly frequencies on an extended basis to Rome. As a result, there will be 12 weekly flights from Toronto and 9 from Montreal.
