Etihad Airways is ramping up its flights towards Australia in 2025, announcing that flights will increase to Sydney.
From July 2025, Etihad Airways will increase its daily service to 10 times per week, thus adding three additional fights.
The vision for Sydney, however, is far greater than just ten services per week, with Etihad Airways believing there’s room for double daily flights.
Australia remains one of Etihad’s most well-connected locations, with many flights into the country’s larger cities. However, with such demand, Etihad believes it can pounce on this.
From mid-next year, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and 777-300ER will be used between the airline’s Abu Dhabi headquarters and Sydney.
While this enhanced service will provide greater access to the airline’s home of Abu Dhabi, a key place Etihad is attempting to grow into, there’s also an opportunity for onward connectivity.
Thanks to Abu Dhabi’s geographical positioning and the fantastic network offered by Etihad Airways, possible onward connectivity options range from Africa to the Middle East and onward to Europe and even North America.
As a result, Etihad Airways believes it can continue competing with other Middle Eastern, European, and Asian carriers offering similar services.
Increasing service to Sydney is just one of the many changes Etihad has already made and can be expected to make to its northern summer schedule, flying across 2025.
Furthermore, considering Journey 2030 ambitions, which will see the increase of fleet, network, and core elements of the business route, increases such as these are expected to become routine.
