Qatar Airways has announced it’ll boost flights to Sri Lanka from its hub in Doha from 10 July 2024.

As part of the increase, the airline will offer six daily flights, up from the previously operated five-daily services.

Qatar Airways says the increase is in response to growing demand. Furthermore, the airline wants to enable greater levels of connectivity for passengers flying to and from this country.

The additional services will focus on Colombo, and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will operate on the sixth daily flight between the two popular destinations.

These Boeing 787s will seat 30 in business class and 281 in Economy Class, offering a two-class configuration that allows customers to choose.

In total, 42 weekly flights will be offered to and from Sri Lanka, and Qatar Airways is betting on its onward connectivity from Doha as a focal point of the service increase.

With more flights to and from Sri Lanka, the possibility of connecting to nearly 170 global destinations, from the Middle East to Europe and Africa, has increased tenfold.

The six daily flights between Doha and Colombo have been optimally timed in the morning to enable flexible connections to other services.

QR656/657 will be the new service added from July 10, with a 0720 departure from Doha and a 1455 arrival into Colombo. Qatar says the return flight will depart at 2115 with a 2345 arrival back into its home of Doha, Qatar. These times are local to their respective destination.
