Cathay Pacific Boosts Flying To Perth

Cathay Pacific has unveiled plans to boost its service to Perth, Australia, with the addition of five more weekly services between Hong Kong and Perth.

The changes will come into effect on 28 October 2024, as Cathay Pacific clearly intends to strengthen ties between Hong Kong and Western Australia.

According to John Carey, the Acting Tourism Minister for Western Australia, driving more travellers to Western Australia is one of the most important parts of the new flight increases.

Cathay Pacific’s bumping up of flights will inject visitor spending into the economy while creating new jobs in the tourism and hospitality industries.

Ultimately, the route is being beefed up so much that Cathay will offer more weekly flights to Perth than it did before the pandemic.

Cathay Pacific has been focused on rebuilding its network while also growing, and decisions such as these will be crucial in reaching its objective of 100% pre-pandemic capacity and flying by early 2025.

The airline says that the additional flights will benefit everyone, but especially students, tourists, and those visiting family and friends. Other travellers, such as those travelling for business, have also been cited, with the two locations being important gateways for industries.

Thanks to the addition of five more weekly flights, Cathay Pacific will transport 140,000 seats annually to Perth inbound and outbound. Furthermore, the flights will offer a fantastic opportunity for local exporters to transport important cargo between Western Australia and Asia.
