Lynx Air is expanding its network across North America by announcing flights between Montreal and Los Angeles.
The New Flight
Service between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will commence on 11 July 2024 with a thrice-weekly operation. These flights will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Meanwhile, from 11 August 2024, the airline says it will substantially increase the flights and offer daily services. However, the company notes that dates are still subject to change.
Ultimately, Lynx Air launching between these two locations will provide an ultra-affordable option for travellers either heading to Montreal or travelling away from it. Currently, costly options plague the route, and the airline wants to change that.
Tickets are on sale, and the fares, including taxes, start at $149 one-way between Montreal and Los Angeles.
The Chief Airport Affairs Officer of Los Angeles World Airports comments on and congratulates Lynx Air’s announcement that it will launch between the two locations.
Montreal and Los Angeles offer travellers a rich array of opportunities, and the airline is believed to have selected the perfect pairing for its route network.
Comments From Executives
This new route will be welcome news for travelers to California and for American visitors eager to explore the province of Québec and elsewhere in Canada. By this summer, Lynx will serve four destinations from Montréal flying more than 11,700 seats to or from Montréal each week. California is an exciting entertainment and recreation hub and we can’t wait to connect travelers to it and to Montréal as a vibrant arts and culture destination, while boosting tourism by offering a great flying experience at an ultra-affordable price.
Vijay Bathija, Chief Commercial Officer of Lynx Air.
ADM Aéroports de Montréal is delighted that Los Angeles has been added to Lynx Air’s list of destinations. This is a new gateway to America’s second largest city, where travelers will have the opportunity to discover its many beaches, as well as a destination rich in history and culture, marked by the world of cinema. With the addition of this route, Lynx Air is continuing to develop the low-cost market from Montréal, which will appeal to a large segment of travelers.
Stéphane Lapierre, Vice President, Airport Operations and Air Services Development, ADM.
The Lynx Air Fleet
Lynx Air operates with a fleet exclusively of Boeing 737 family jets and all next-generation MAX units.
The airline has 9 737-8s in its fleet, averaging 2.8 years. Thanks to this youthful fleet, Lynx Air is among some of the youngest aircraft operators in North America.
Thus, being a single-operator airline, the carrier will fly with the 737-8 MAX towards Los Angeles.
