Akasa Air, one of the newest entries into the aviation industry, especially India, has acquired its first 737-8-200.
Thanks to the latest delivery of the high capacity 737 MAX variant, the airline has reached a fleet size of 20 units. This is all part of its rapid but also planned network expansion as it eyes available market share within India.
Today’s landmark addition to our fleet, heralds the international chapter of growth in Akasa’s story. Going from 0 to 20 aircraft within 12 months is not just an Akasa record but a record that encapsulates the potential of India. We have recorded the highest on-time performance for several consecutive months in 2023.
Vinay Dube, Founder CEO, Akasa Air
The 737-8-200 is registered as VT-YAV and arrived in Bengaluru recently from a long journey in Seattle.
The -8-200 aids Akasa Air’s plans, especially with the brand focusing on controlling operating costs while boosting the customer experience. Akasa Air also wants to focus on being environmental. The addition of the 737-8-200 aids them by keeping their fleet young and efficient.
Akasa Air has grown its fleet from 0 to 10 in 12 months and currently exclusively flies the 737 MAX series. It truly is the backbone of their network.
