Garuda Indonesia has announced a positive outlook for the remainder of 2023 and, as such, fleet adjustments too.
Garuda Indonesia narrowed its losses quite significantly in the first quarter. While still posting a loss, it’s an improvement and continues the trend in an upward trajectory.
The Jakarta-based airline says that it will look towards adding five more Boeing 737-800s by year’s end to meet ongoing demand. Overall, an addition to its fleet is an excellent move by the airline that continues to recover from the long-standing effects of the global pandemic.
Per Cirium fleet data, Garuda Indonesia has 58 aircraft in service spread across three fleet families. This includes 34 the 737NGs, 7 Boeing 777s and 17 Airbus A330 family aircraft—all the aircraft in operation average age of 10.7 years.
