OneAir, a new British cargo operator, has announced it’s been awarded the all-important AOC from the Uk’s CAA.
The air operating certificate is essential in getting flights to begin. One Air has been working towards a launch for some time and will now operate with a dry-leased 747 freighter.
Following Virgin Atlantic’s and British Airways’ removal of the 747 from their passenger operations, OneAir becomes the only U.K. operator of the 747.
OneAir says with its Boeing 747; it’ll be looking towards flights to a host of regions and beginning with operations from London Heathrow to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The company does have the vision to expand towards China and the United States of America. However, these would all come later, as OneAir prioritises establishing its operations first.
OneAir says that by year’s end, they’ll be flying a second 747F and believe there’s significant importance that needs to be placed on freighter services and their role within the U.K.
The team at OneAir is headed up by key executives that have worked with the likes of Easyjet, Flybe, TUI and much more. So there’s a rich degree of industry experience present.
