Bonza has been busy over the Easter break with a handful of new services launching as the latest Australian airline expands.

The airline launched at the beginning of the year exclusively with the 737 MAX and has since begun flights out of its Melbourne base. In addition, Melbourne Airport will act as a secondary base to the Sunshine Coast.

Now, the airline has launched its Melbourne to Rockhampton service. The service is initially slated to fly twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays and will accompany an already flying Melbourne to Sunshine Coast route.

Bonza believes that the launch of this flight comes at a perfect time as Melbournians are plunged into the overcast, wet and cold winter. Flights offered to Rockhampton now provide an excellent opportunity to catch some sun, as noted by the Chief Commerical Officer of Bonza, Carly Povey.

Additionally, Bonza launched its Sunshine Coast to Albury flights. This twice-weekly service is an important one for the Albury market and, in addition, Bonza. The Australian airline is now looking towards building its initial route plan, which consisted of 17 destinations across 27 routes.

Bonza prides itself most on how that 93% of its initial route network isn’t served by any other airline. Meanwhile, 96% of the flights aren’t operated by a low-cost carrier. Tim Jordan, the airline CEO, has always said that he wants to ensure that people aren’t priced out of travel.

Bonza also launched its Sunshine Coast to Mildura service, which will also be a twice-weekly flight.

We are humbled to join customers on our first direct flight to Mildura from the Sunshine Coast today. Onboard are young families travelling to surprise grandparents who will get to see more of their grandkids now that it has become so much easier and affordable to fly. We’ve also got travellers visiting Mildura to explore its many great attractions including the Mildura 100 Ski Race held annually over Easter.

  1. It’s actually about time that an Aussies are connected in regional areas without requiring a transit hub through a major centre. I really hope Bonza is successful.
