Air France-KLM has returned to profits for 2022 following a trying few years. It also comes as the group sees post-pandemic recovery continue. The news of profitability was backed significantly thanks to increasing demand. The group reported their highest four-quarter revenues in company history.

While revenues soared, passenger revenue kilometres also saw fantastic increases for the entire year. In terms of full recovery from the pandemic, they believe this will be achievable towards the end of the year, although this is subject to change.

Load factors also remained steady across the group; they reported 84% across 2022. While not yet in the 90s, this was a 25% point jump, almost over 2021 numbers. It highlights the rapid return to demand and further easing of restrictions for markets globally.

The positive load factor performance continues as they reported that they carried more than 83 million passengers across the airline. This is nearly double what they registered for the same period in 2021.

The group said it rounded off 2022 with a positive net income and can now firmly say goodbye to the pandemic, turning to the company’s next chapter.

Revenues were recorded to be at US $28.1 billion. This, in turn, led to a US $748 million net result. For Air France-KLM, this is a fantastic result as not only does it see them profitable, but based on predictions, they recorded above expectations in the end.
