United Airlines has confirmed a change in its operation with Boeing aircraft, specifically in Guam.
The U.S. carrier says that it will transform the travel experience for customers on the ground and in the air, both to and from its hub in Guam.
The enhancement will involve replacing the entire Boeing 737-800 fleet with the state-of-the-art and significantly more efficient and comfortable 737 MAX 8.
United Airlines says it’ll also upgrade the interior of Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport with new kiosks, which will reduce congestion and, as a result, save customers time.
The U.S. carrier states that it’s scheduled to take delivery of the first 737 MAX 8, which is part of the Guam changes, in February 2026.
For the company, Guam is considered more than just a hub, with the managing director of airport operations in the Asia-Pacific region stating that the location serves as a gateway for connecting communities across the Pacific and the United States.
Nowadays, there are more than 1,000 employees based in Guam and the surrounding areas, and with so many communities being served, this investment is slated to be huge for the region.

Inside the airport, the customer experience will receive an elevation with kiosks that are 55% faster than existing ones; this should speed up the process for both customers and employees.
Nowadays, the narrowbody fleet in Guam serves 15 destinations with 12 flights a day, including the iconic hopper route, which connects Guam to Hawaii through several stops.
Additionally, there are 42 flights per week to the largest cities in Japan, with airports such as Narita, Osaka, and Nagoya receiving connectivity.
Inside The United Airlines Aircraft
These new 737 MAX jets will feature a state-of-the-art interior, highlighted by seatback entertainment for every passenger.
Moreover, inside the aircraft, there’ll be larger overhead bins compared to the aircraft being replaced, which means there’s more space for passengers’ carry-on baggage.
Ultimately, increased baggage storage space is a key component of new aircraft entering service, designed to meet the evolving demands of each airline’s customer base.

Additionally, Wi-Fi will be available for purchase, along with extra leather seating and wireless Bluetooth connectivity. A new bright look will be present thanks to LED lighting.
The planes will have a total of 166 seats, including 16 United First seats. USB charging ports will also be present, and the airline will prioritise ensuring there are accessibility features for those who require them most.
