Etihad Airways has taken delivery of a new Airbus A321LR aircraft.
A ceremony held at Airbus’ Finkenwerder site marked the airline’s delivery of the next-generation aircraft, designed to enhance capacity and range in single-aisle operations.
Additionally, the new aircraft is part of the airline’s ongoing transformation, aimed at expanding its fleet.
For Etihad Airways, the A321LR has always been about one thing: bringing what it claims is its signature widebody experience across more short- to medium-haul routes and, more importantly, on single-aisle jets.
Thus, by taking delivery of the A321LR, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier has done everything in its power to add a sense of luxury through premium cabins and fittings, truly bringing the widebody experience to a plane on a much smaller scale.

Taking delivery of the first A321LR marks the first of 30 that’ll be delivered in the coming years to elevate the business.
Inside The Airbus A321LR
These A321LRs are configured with three cabin classes, and more importantly, the front of the plane will feature the airline’s first-ever narrowbody First Suites.
First Suites is described as a private, luxurious space that focuses on offering an enclosed area with full sliding doors, fully flat beds, and design touches carefully crafted to replicate a long-haul wide-body experience.
Business class is also featured, with 14 seats designed in a 1-1 configuration, which means each passenger will have not just a window view but also, more importantly, direct aisle access.

In Economy Class, there are 144 seats with Etihad, each offering generous space and comfort. A 13.3-inch display is complemented by a 4K touchscreen with USB charging and Bluetooth connectivity.
Thanks to next-generation capabilities, these A321LRs also come with enlarged overhead bins, which means there’s significantly more space above passengers for carry-on baggage, making it an even more prerequisite for narrow-body aircraft.
A New Era For Etihad Airways
The arrival of the A321LR also marks a period where a strong focus is placed on renewing the fleet alongside further expansion.
Etihad Airways has already confirmed the upcoming launch of several routes, which also includes many that have already commenced in 2025.
As more aircraft are delivered and more routes are launched, the company will continue to progress further towards achieving its Journey 2030 ambitions.
Journey 2030 is an ambitious expansion effort being undertaken by the carrier as part of plans to cement itself as one of the largest airlines in the Middle East.
To facilitate this expansion, there’s a requirement for the delivery of new aircraft, the launch of new routes and the generalised expansion
