STARLUX has announced an order for the Airbus A350-1000 at the 2025 Paris Air Show.
The agreement sees the purchase of ten additional units as part of efforts to evolve the fleet and place more emphasis moving forward on high-capacity flying to new global cities.
For STARLUX, the new aircraft purchase marks a further deepening of their relationship with Airbus, with the manufacturer now playing a full reliance role in powering the global fleet.
The all-Airbus fleet now includes 28 aircraft ranging from the smaller A350-900 models to the A330neo, and for single-aisle operations, the A321neo.
However, the order backlog for STARLUX now includes a healthy amount of A350-1000 jets, with the high-capacity nature of this offering enabling fresh opportunities for the network upon delivery.
Additionally, STARLUX has committed to the state-of-the-art A350 Freighter in a bid to establish its dedicated freight division and meet high demand levels, while also diversifying the business.
As part of the agreement, STARLUX also took the opportunity to present a new livery, which will debut on the A350-1000 upon launch. The livery focuses on darker shades of grey throughout the branding.
The livery is being described as a special carbon fibre scheme, paying homage to Airbus and their efforts, which have been undertaken since the commencement of the widebody program.
A Big Step For STARLUX
STARLUX at the placement of this order confirmed that the expansion of its network, now aided by additional A350-1000 jets, is a step in the right direction.
The Taiwanese-based carrier aims to expand its global presence moving forward, while also enhancing connectivity to existing markets through increased capacity flights.
The A350-1000 offers range, comfort, and efficiency according to the airline’s CEO, and thus is the perfect fit for their strategy to optimise long-haul operations shortly.

As for Airbus, they view STARLUX’s return for more A350-1000 jets as a testament to the work currently being conducted to elevate the A350 program and continue finding new uses for existing and upcoming operators of the type.
With two available base models, the -1000, which comes with a higher capacity, is what the planemaker describes as a long-range leader in its class, prioritising capacity while maintaining great performance metrics.
