STARLUX is plotting a major expansion of its fleet with a strong focus on establishing its freight business moving forward.
The luxurious company states that it aims to have 48 total commercial aircraft by 2027 and by 2029, operate 10 freighters, which will be crucial for its cargo division, expected to launch formally.
STARLUX has already committed to the upcoming A350F, a next-generation freighter aircraft expected to play a key role in launching its new cargo business; however, recent delays have made the launch timeframe more uncertain.
The arrival of the A350-1000 in 2025 was expected to play a significant role in the broader business’s growth endeavours. However, the company has confirmed that some of these units have been delayed.
Initially, the expectation was that three A350-1000s would be delivered this year; now, STARLUX is more hopeful that just one unit will be delivered at best, hindering the launch of new international routes.

Away from the high-capacity A350-1000, STARLUX has also outlined the expected arrival of more A321 jets, with six to be delivered. Meanwhile, two additional A330neos are scheduled for delivery this year.
STARLUX’s Big Expansion Coming
The luxury Taiwanese-based carrier says that, by 2025, its focus will remain on expanding towards North American destinations.
Following strong passenger load factors, access to Ontario will be available from June 2, representing an essential new long-haul market added to the broader network.
However, what the airline is most excited about is the significant additional capacity that’s expected to be made available with the delivery of new planes.
STARLUX states that when its first batch of A350-1000 jets is delivered, new opportunities will arise to fly further and deeper into the United States, meeting demand.

The company has highlighted markets such as Texas, Chicago, New York and Washington DC, as all locations that will be available to them, with thorough analysis conducted to determine the best course of action.
However, for the carrier, much focus has been on developing a robust network towards North America since its conception, which is expected to continue, but with a shift in focus to the East for the first time.
STARLUX says it remains keen on launching services to Europe from sometime in 2026, with the delivery of next-generation planes crucial for that to happen.
European markets have lacked STARLUX’s presence, and while its aircraft are capable of completing this journey from the airline’s infancy, and with available capacity, this hasn’t been a realistic proposition.
