Air Canada is expanding its service to Dublin, Ireland, in a bid to increase capacity across the Atlantic.

The Canadian flag carrier’s announcement came at the end of last week and was made possible thanks to removing a passenger cap.

Dublin Airport confirmed that this summer’s cap on passengers has been paused. As a result, airlines from around the world have the opportunity to increase their service.

All the associated changes that will take place highlight an increase in growth of 17% per year, which shows the demand levels, according to the airline’s Sales Manager for Ireland.

Irish customers will now have greater connectivity options on partner or Air Canada flights, not just to a host of Canadian cities but also for Transborder services and beyond.

Already, service has increased in several cities across Canada. However, now Air Canada will increase Dublin to Vancouver, flying up from three times a week to five times during the peak season.

Furthermore, Air Canada has confirmed that the operating season in which this operates will also change to reflect the high levels of demand.

These flights will depart on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The airline will use its Boeing 787 Dreamliner for service from 2 May 2025.

The Dreamliner is an integral part of the airline’s long-haul network, bringing capacity and efficiency to many markets worldwide.

Away from Vancouver, the airline is also offering Dublin from Toronto, a popular Canadian city, where flights will depart daily.

This increases over the four weekly flights offered during the colder winter schedule. The Boeing 787 will also fly on this route between the two cities.

Air Canada has also stated that increases will be felt between Montreal and Dublin, with a summer seasonal flight expected to jet off four times every week on 2 June 2025.
