Finnair has announced that its relationship with American Airlines will extend further, with more destinations to be added.

As part of the cooperation enhancement in January with 12 destinations across Mexico that are part of the American Airlines operation will see Finnair codeshare.

Dallas Fort-Worth, the hub for American Airlines, sees many flights departing towards Mexico each day, and Finnair considers the decision to grow the partnership as hugely important.

From summer 2025, the Finland-based carrier will also increase its services to Dallas with 11 weekly flights, up from the current daily operation for the 2024/25 winter schedule.

Finnair says that the codeshare arrangements will commence on January 23, 2025, with ticket sales becoming available for these journeys from January 13, 2025.

The flights that Finnair will codeshare will be operated by American Airlines and its subsidiary Envoy Air.

As for the locations in question, American Airlines serves Guanajuato, Monterrey, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Cancún, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Mérida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Querétaro and San José del Cabo all from its hub of Dallas Fort Worth.

Thanks to this expansion network, Dallas acts as a hub for travel down south, and Finnair believes the cooperation is enormous for its customers across Europe.

Mexico remains an incredibly popular travel destination, and codeshare arrangements offer enhanced connectivity opportunities throughout a calendar year.

Finnair further adds that customers can now access these locations with the benefit of travelling their entire route on a Finnair flight number and thus collect Avios for the entirety of the trip.

Codeshare benefits generally make travel far more seamless, with fresh opportunities to reach specific destinations.
