A Turkish Airlines Airbus A321neo

Turkish Airlines has signed a lease agreement to increase its fleet and commitment to the A321neo family of aircraft.

AerCap will provide ten more A321neo aircraft as part of its commitment to growing Turkish Airlines.

The pair has yet to provide specifics around the delivery of the aircraft or variants, with multiple options available that can be explored.

We are very pleased to support Turkish Airlines with the lease of these ten new A321neo aircraft, helping them to continue to grow their extensive route network while modernizing their narrowbody fleet for greater operational efficiency. We wish Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Mr. Levent Konukcu and the entire Turkish Airlines’ management team every success and we look forward to building on our long-term partnership as these aircraft deliver, and beyond.

Aengus Kelly, the Chief Executive Officer of AerCap.

Turkish Airlines has clarified that it wants almost to double its fleet and grow its destination list to over 400 as part of a commitment to becoming one of the largest airlines globally.

While ambitious, these plans won’t be easy, and the airline is seeking lease contracts to accelerate proceedings.

The company has already signed major contracts with Airbus for new aircraft, but the opportunity to enter the leasing market to grow its portfolio is not to be passed up.
