Condor and WestJet are celebrating their codeshare partnership with the Canadian carrier, which now has direct access to Frankfurt International Airport (FRA).

Thanks to the expansion of a long-standing agreement, connectivity to Frankfurt will be possible from five Canadian airports, including Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and Halifax.

This 10-year partnership did not previously include codesharing, with the pair instead focusing on an interline agreement. This extension and enhanced growth will benefit customers significantly.

Through the expansion of our partnership with Condor Airlines, we are unlocking amazing opportunities for our guests in Europe and Canada to access an extensive list of tourism destinations on both sides of the globe. Our shared passion for affordable leisure travel has allowed our partnership to evolve to meet the growing demand for transatlantic travel, and we look forward to welcoming the world to Canada this summer.

John Weatherill, WestJet Group Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.

WestJet will sell tickets on flights operated by Condor from the aforementioned five Canadian locations to Frankfurt, the busiest airport in Germany.

The ease of purchasing an itinerary on a single ticket will enable greater connectivity across Canada to Germany on services with checked baggage and other single-ticket-associated benefits.

While WestJet customers are said to benefit from the codeshare partnership, passengers on Condor services will also have greater access later in the summer. WestJet says it’ll offer better service to cities in the United States for guests connecting via a Canadian city that Condor serves.

Condor knows that by returning to Calgary, they needed to strengthen their relationship with WestJet, and this outcome is the best for all parties. The German carrier says it’ll also streamline its Canadian operations further by allowing passengers to jump right on their connecting WestJet flight after immigration without the need to collect their baggage.
