Virgin Australia has announced it’s expanding its regional network by signing a partnership with Link Airways.
New Era For Virgin Australia
In what can be described as a new era and focus for the Australian carrier, the airline has targeted Link Airways to enhance its regional footprint tenfold.
Thanks to the new partnership, more than 90 services per week will have the Virgin Australia name alongside it thanks to a codeshare agreement.
Key locations such as Inverell, Wollongong and Bioela will all be included in the newly launched partnership. These locations can be deemed as important as they are not served by any other major Australian airline.
The regional carrier only has a fleet of 14 aircraft; however, it has quickly risen through the ranks of Australian aviation with its regional offerings providing compelling options for customers.

Virgin Australia says the partnership will also focus on benefits for Velocity Frequent Flyer, now at almost 12 million members. Aboard Link Airways operated services that the carrier codeshares on, passengers will be eligible to earn both Points and Status Credits.
