WestJet Announces Winnipeg Route Expansion

WestJet has announced plans to add daily year round flights to Ottawa and Montreal while adding seasonal service to Nashville from September.

WestJet is propelling forward with its mission to significantly expand its network, with new additions set to commence from Winnipeg.

From June 2, 2024, the airline will commence new year-round daily services towards Montreal. There will also be increases in daily year-round flights towards the country’s capital, Ottawa.

Transborder connections are also set to benefit, with the airline announcing a seasonal service between Winnipeg and Nashville expected to commence on September 16, 2024.

Winnipeg has long been an important city for WestJet, and the latest route announcement further cements the airline’s position in the market and its vision for the future.

Ottawa and Montreal are considered crucial to the Winnipeg business community, and these service announcements are expected to significantly improve community connectivity and foster economic growth.

New WestJet Service Schedule

Winnipeg to Ottawa will commence June 3, with departure at 1715 and arrival into the capital at 2050. The return leg will depart at 2135 with a 2326 arrival back into Winnipeg.

Meanwhile, the launch on the same day will be from Winnipeg to Montreal, departing at 0935. WestJet scheduled arrival into Montreal for 1320 with a departure one hour later at 1420; the aircraft will finally touch back down in Winnipeg at 1630.

Lastly, from September 16, the airline will commence twice-weekly flights to Nashville. The service, however, will end on November 15 as in line with its seasonal nature.

The carrier has a departure scheduled for 1110 with a 1420 arrival into Nashville. The return flight departs for Winnipeg at 0740, with an arrival at 1025.

Enhancement Network Wide

Winnipeg will benefit from the latest service announcements and see substantial flights to markets domestically, across the border, and towards the Latin Caribbean region.

Notably, there will be five weekly flights to Atlanta, a twice-weekly flight to Victoria commencing June 25, Halifax commencing May 3, and several other seasonal winter routes to warm-weather markets.
