WestJet continues to beef up its network in 2025 by announcing enhanced transborder connectivity.

The Canadian carrier will offer thrice-weekly nonstop service between Vancouver and Austin in Texas from 11 May 2025.

WestJet says that the commencement of this new route will be pivotal in allowing the company to unlock the major city’s massive business and tourism potential.

Meanwhile, according to the carrier, those returning to Vancouver from Austin can experience the cultural exchange and vibrant city life.

WestJet says it’s hellbent on enhancing its connectivity across Western Canada and expanding its recently enhanced summer schedule is the optimal time to do so.

Enhanced connectivity will now be offered between the Greater Vancouver Area and the southern part of the United States, making travel more affordable.

The service will operate thrice weekly, with an 1800 departure from Vancouver and a next-day arrival into Austin at 0017, local to these respective cities.

The return flight will depart for the first time on 12 May 2025 with wheels up scheduled for 0800 and a 1038 touchdown back into Vancouver.

This route announcement is a broader commitment to offering customers strong options across the 2025 summer schedule.

That summer schedule unveiled significant growth across the country but quite the enhancement to what is to depart from Vancouver.

During the peak travel season, Westet says it’ll serve 15 destinations across the United States from Vancouver, equating to 93 departures.

New routes will include the aforementioned and focus service to Austin; however, this will continue with daily operations from Vancouver to Boston and a once-weekly service to Tampa.

While focusing on transborder offerings, the airline has also emphasized strengthening its coast-to-coast flights, and that ambition largely spurred the launch of the latter two services to Boston and Tampa.
