WestJet has announced an expansion of service in 2025 from Vancouver International Airport, with transborder connectivity to be enhanced.

While the winter schedule commences, the Canadian carrier knows it must already begin planning for the all-important summer 2025 schedule and, as such, is making necessary changes.

WestJet will offer nonstop seasonal connectivity from Vancouver to Boston and Tampa for the schedule as part of a commitment to expand its U.S. connectivity and presence from the Canadian city.

The airline believes there are great opportunities for service coast to coast and is looking to enhance this offering with the launch of these two new flights next year.

WestJet will increase seat capacity by 12% overall and look to increase its domestic seat capacity by 13%. The company is thrilled to expand its connectivity this summer, offering greater business and leisure travel opportunities.

As part of our double-digit capacity increase at YVR, guests travelling from Vancouver this summer will also enjoy increased flight options to many popular domestic and U.S. destinations, including Calgary, Edmonton, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Kelowna, Winnipeg and Toronto.

John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer.

While the focus will be on these new services for WestJet, there will also be a focus on the airline’s relationship with Delta through codesharing benefits.

Thanks to this partnership, WestJet has confirmed that guests can connect through Boston Logan to a wide array of destinations across the U.S. network with a single purchased ticket and checked baggage.

Relationships such as these offer fantastic opportunities for customers to have a more seamless flying experience and to reach markets that WestJet cannot reach with its mainline aircraft for many reasons, from demand to aircraft availability.

New WestJet Service Details

The Canadian carrier has confirmed that service to Boston Logan will be offered from 9 June 2025 to 13 October 2025.

The ability to serve markets such as these on a seasonal basis not only gives the carrier a chance to understand what demand truly looks like but also the possibility to test the waters for a possible full-year operation.

Furthermore, WestJet will be able to deploy the aircraft used on the daily service on a seasonal basis elsewhere to a market that needs them for the 2025/26 winter schedule.

Meanwhile, the airline’s upcoming flight from Vancouver to Tampa is the other coast-to-coast route to be offered as part of the latest announcement.

This flight will operate just once per week, commencing service on 14 June 2025 and continuing until 25 October 2025.
