Viva Aerobus has announced an expansion for its 2024 schedule as it experiences growing demand.
In 2024, the airline will launch 17 new routes with 12 dedicated aircraft to power these operations into the New Mexico City airport, which opened in 2022.
These plans have been labelled as ambitious by the airline with routes to Ciudad Juárez, Ciudad Obregón, Chetumal, Chihuahua, Durango, Guadalajara, Huatulco, Mérida, Nuevo Laredo, Puerto Vallarta, Reynosa, Los Cabos, Tampico, Tulum, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Veracruz and Villahermosa all slated to launch.
At AIFA’s General Management department, we thank Viva for trusting this new airport, with infrastructure, technology, safety, and quality service that allows passengers to travel to more destinations. While these routes will all be slated to launch from the airport, the airline also has a view to increase frequency on ten currently operational roles from Felipe Angles International Airport.
Viva Aerobus says there’s solid potential in the new Mexico City airport launched 18 months ago.
Tulum is slated to begin on December 1st, Guadalajara on December 9th and Ciudad Juárez alongside Mérida on December 16th. These are the only connections that’ll launch in 2023, with the remaining coming in 2024.
New 2024 operations out of the airport begin as early as January 8th, with Huatulco, Chihuahua, Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo, and Veracruz all launching. While flights to Durango will commence on July 5th 2024, making up the last route as part of this substantial expansion
