Virgin Atlantic is expanding its international network with the announcement of service commencement to Seoul in South Korea.

From March 29, 2026, Virgin Atlantic plans to offer its first flight to Incheon International Airport in Seoul as part of its efforts to expand its connectivity in the East.

The landmark route confirmation, which is just under a year away, came as the airline also flew into Riyadh for the very first time, representing further expansion East.

Virgin Atlantic will operate its Boeing 787-9 on the service to Seoul, South Korea, with a daily frequency expected.

Service will operate as VS208/209 with departure from London Heathrow scheduled for 0945 and a next-day arrival in Seoul at 0650. The return flight departs Seoul at 0835 and touches down in London the same day at 1505, all times local.

Virgin Atlantic’s New Focus

For the longest time, Virgin Atlantic has been intensely focused on developing its Transatlantic network.

Recent financial figures emphasised the importance of North American connectivity. However, the airline understands it needs to evolve.

Flying Eastwards, therefore, has gained new importance for the airline, with a focus on serving markets such as Dubai, the Maldives, Riyadh, and further development in India, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

As political uncertainty, while it may not be a long-term problem, it certainly affects short-term levels of demand, and has put greater emphasis on Virgin Atlantic evolving.

Destinations such as South Korea being added to the airline’s network offer fresh opportunities that were not previously possible and highlight the possibilities that can be achieved.

Virgin Atlantic Celebrates India

Alongside the announcement of service commencement to South Korea, slated for 2026, Virgin Atlantic is also celebrating 25 years of serving India.

India represents the third-largest market for the company outside the United Kingdom and the United States, with up to five daily flights now being offered, including one to Bengaluru, and twice-daily flights to Mumbai and Delhi.

All in all, the U.K.-based carrier offers approximately 1 million seats to customers each year, representing a 350% increase in seat capacity since 2019.

The five daily services, while able to carry many passengers, also benefit from the Cargo division, which offers over 40 million kilograms of space to and from India, representing a 336% increase from 2019.
