United Airlines takes delivery of Boeing 787-10
United Airlines took delivery of its first Boeing 787-10 on Monday, the largest variant in the 787 family.
United Airlines along with the 787-10 also operate the other two variants in the 787 family, the 787-8 and 787-9. Through taking delivery of the 787-10 United is the first carrier to operate all three variants in the world.
Gerry Laderman, United’s chief financial officer said “The 787-10 is an excellent addition to United’s fleet. It offers superior fuel efficiency while providing a more comfortable customer experience onboard that allows passengers to arrive at their destinations feeling more refreshed,”
The 787-10 will begin flights Newark and Los Angeles in early January 2019. Following this, they will launch Newark to San Franciso services with the aircraft as well in February of 2019.
United Airlines is the third airline to welcome the 787-10 with Singapore Airlines, the launch operator receiving their first earlier this year and Etihad Airways welcoming their first in recent days.
