SpiceJet Adding 10 More Aircraft

As passenger demand increases, India’s SpiceJet will add ten further Boeing 737 family aircraft.

The 737s are set to arrive in the airline’s operations from September through to October as guidance.

Per current fleet data, the airline has 35 aircraft in service, 16 of which are part of the 737NG family and 9 of the 737 MAX family. Therefore, the 737 family is its most important. The addition of 10 additional units will boost its capacity across its network.

SpiceJet is relying on continued demand throughout the remainder of 2023 to make the introduction of these units seamless.

The Indian aviation sector is as competitive as ever, with multiple new entries, companies expanding, and airlines plotting significant growth. As such, companies such as SpiceJet are looking to take ahold of their market share and grow their operations.
