Riyadh Air Arrives In Saudi Arabia

In a historic moment for Saudi Arabia, the first aircraft for Riyadh Air arrived in Riyadh and was met with a flyover of the city and a jet from the Saudi Air Force.

Their first Boeing 787 was revealed to the world last week as the carrier gears up for a launch in 2025. This 787 will act as a demonstrator for the company and sports the first look at the Riyadh Air livery, which has the potential to be refined between now and its official launch.

Riyadh Air will launch exclusively with Boeing aircraft, operating the 787 following a mammoth order of 60+ planes, including firm commitments and options.

The 787s will be deployed globally and are part of Saudi Arabia’s answer to growing its economy and Riyadh as a location for travel from business to tourism.

Away from the 787, the airline is currently eyeing an order for up to 150 narrowbody aircraft, with Boeing being pitted as the likely leader for the contract there.

Despite its arrival, there are still question marks surrounding the onboard product, which the airline is yet to arrive, but will be in due course as they continue to countdown to launch.
