Lufthansa Group has rebranded Eurowings Discover to Discover Airlines as part of its new course for growth.
The first aircraft with the new livery has already touched down in Frankfurt. The plane is an Airbus A320, registered as D-AIUR.
Overall, it marks a new era for the brand that Lufthansa Group calls its young leisure airline. It also strongly emphasises the position Lufthansa Group wants to have with Discover Airlines as a leisure carrier within Germany.
The updated branding stands for discovering and rediscovering beautiful places and experiences, a simplistic tone, but highlights what Lufthansa Group wants from the refresh.
Discord Airlines’ new branding features solid blue tones throughout. According to a press release, the tones are skylines and pick up the sky, horizon and water colours. Additionally, the yellow accents represent the sun and the beach. It’s all about leisure and making travel fun.
We have built up our airline in a record time of two years, hired around 2,000 employees, phased-in 22 aircraft, and today are flying to over 60 destinations around the world. The fact that we are already profitable after two years is thanks to the enormous commitment of the team. This same enthusiasm is now driving us forward. The start-up phase is behind us and we are working on sharpening our profile as well as a clear positioning in the segment of higher-value leisure travel. This is also expressed by the brand identity which at the same time underlines our affiliation with the Lufthansa Group. Discover Airlines stands for quality, joy and ease, after all, people fly with us to the best time of the year.
Bernd Bauer, CEO of Discover Airlines
Signage around the airport, social media channels and more will all follow in the coming days and weeks before the plan is to roll the updated branding out across more uniforms and elements of the cabin in December.
Additionally, the mission will be to grow the fleet to 28 aircraft by 2028 and expand the Munich base.
By 2025, Discover Airlines will also resume long-haul flights out of Munich as part of its commitment to the city as a critical base.
