KLM has announced plans to begin serving Portland from Amsterdam year-round, adding further connectivity to its transatlantic operations.

KLM says the flights will commence on October 27, 2024, with service to be offered thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays between Schiphol and Portland.

However, thrice-weekly flights will only be available during the 24/25 winter schedule. KLM says that in time for the summer 2025 season, they’ll beef up weekly flights to five.

As part of the revised schedule for the Summer 2025 season, KLM says flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

KLM will use the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner between the two locations in a three-class configuration. The 787-9 can seat 30 in World Business Class, 21 in Premium Comfort, and 224 in Economy.

Portland is the largest city in Oregon and a year-round tourist destination. For KLM, this location will be the 21st direct destination across North America from Amsterdam Schiphol and is regarded as an important step in growth.

Furthermore, KLM highlights its partnership with Delta Air Lines, which has served the two locations for 15 years. With KLM joining, capacity will be boosted.

Winter 2024/25 Route Schedule

KL615 will depart Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) at 1025 and arrive at Portland International Airport (PDX) at 1125. Times local to their respective city.

After two hours on the ground, the 787 will depart Portland at 1325 and arrive in Amsterdam Schiphol at 0750 the following morning. This schedule is for the 2024/25 winter season.

Summer 2025 Route Schedule

KLM has made revisions to this route during the summer season, not just in the form of the days it’ll operate but also with slight departure and arrival adjustments.

During the summer 2025 flight schedule, KL615 will depart Amsterdam Schiphol at 1040 and arrive at Portland International at 1130. KL616 will depart at 1330 local time and arrive back in Amsterdam at 0755 the next day.
