HiSky To Begin Airbus A330 Operations

Airbus A330-200 captured midflight that'll eventually fly with HiSky

Romanian carrier HiSky will grow its fleet and begin widebody operations through a new lease agreement.

HiSky will acquire an Airbus A330-200 from Air Lease Corporation and will now be able to launch widebody operations, a decision that HiSky labels as historic for Romanian aviation.

By the end of this year, the single A330-200 will arrive and see a flight range of over 13,400km, resulting in many possibilities for long-haul flights.

We are extremely proud to continue writing the history of Romanian aviation and to be pioneers again, by bringing this Airbus A330 to Bucharest. It is a spectacular aircraft, with which the market in the region is less familiar, but which opens up a lot of travel opportunities for passengers. We still have a few months until our first scheduled flight, so we’ll definitely be back soon with all the details on the far-flung destinations we’ll be reaching with the newest member of the HiSky fleet.

 Iulian Scorpan, HiSky CEO.

The addition of the A330 means it is the eighth aircraft to enter the airline’s fleet, with 7 Airbus aircraft in operation, including two new Airbus A321neos that were only recently delivered and have been hugely important to long-term efficiency and connectivity.

Ultimately routes are yet to be announced, however, the airline will be able to reach a host of locations globally with HiSky revealing that flights as far as Asia, the Middle East and Americas will be possible, opening up a host of opportunities for Romania.
