Emirates Airbus A350-900 (A6-EXI) Landing at Dubai International Airport

Emirates will begin sending its Airbus A350-900 on a new service to the United States from its hub at Dubai International in November as part of continued service ramp-ups.

According to a latest schedule filing flagged by AeroRoutes, Emirates will replace its Boeing 777-200LR with the Airbus A350-900 from 1 November 2026 on the Dubai (DXB)-Orlando (MCO) route.

The change means the new widebody Emirates has hedged its bets on developing international flights across regional and medium-haul routes and will begin service to Orlando.

The aircraft will be deployed across the daily EK219/220 service in time for the Northern Winter 2026/27 season and festive period. EK219 is scheduled to depart Dubai International at 0305 and arrive at Orlando International Airport at 1020.

Meanwhile, the return service EK220 departs Orlando at 2020 and arrives the following day back at the airline’s hub in Dubai at 1910. All times are local.

Orlando becomes the next Emirates A350 destination

Emirates’ deployment of the Airbus A350-900 to Orlando marks the next destination on an evolving route map for the next-generation type the Dubai-based carrier has ordered in significant numbers.

The airline, which began taking delivery of its A350-900s in late 2024, has since used the type to add a third component to its route map and move away from an Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-only operation.

Emirates has found great success leveraging the capabilities of both the 777 and A380 families for high-capacity, limited-flexibility routes, and in developing the airline’s work across secondary markets, which have also grown.

The Boeing 777-200LR exiting the Orlando market is a change from a type originally designed for long-haul segments, while the airline has flown the type alongside its larger 777-300ER from Boeing over the years.

Now, the A350-900’s efficiency, paired with a Premium Economy product and a range suitable for a wide array of services, has brought back flexibility to service locations that may have seen margins squeezed with previous-generation jets.

Orlando, a major gateway for Central Florida and an access point to the United States and South America, is attractive for the A350-900’s capabilities and Emirates. Furthermore, onward connections from Dubai to Florida across the network could benefit from the new type’s daily operation.
