Delta Air Lines has announced free Wi-Fi for passengers will begin to arrive on February 1st. In partnership with T-Mobile, complimentary Wi-Fi will be available onboard most domestic mainline flights.
Delta believes there’ll be an improved customer travel experience thanks to this announcement. Although Wi-Fi has been rolled out across many airlines globally, from new aircraft to old, today’s news is essential for Delta.
The airline revealed that 700 Viasat-equipped aircraft would welcome free Wi-Fi by the end of 2023. By 2024, they plan on bringing free Wi-Fi to be international and regional services.

At work, at home and everywhere in between, connectivity is essential to daily life, and your journey on Delta should be no different. Our vision has long been to deliver an experience at 30,000 feet that feels similar to what our customers have available on the ground.
Delta CEO, Ed Bastian
Delta has placed importance on offering a high-speed service. From the development to the eventual implementation, the carrier has focused on creating the best inflight connectivity available.
For most carriers, free Wi-Fi usually comes with poor speeds and the lack of ability to do anything. Ed Bastian notes that he wanted the experience to be seamless. Allowing passengers to have the ability to do everything they would on the ground, in the air.
Ed Bastian confirmed that the Wi-Fi would extend to however many devices you wish.
