Bonza Begins Passenger Flights In Australia

Australia’s newest airline, low-cost Bonza, has made history following the completion of its first-ever flight.

The milestone comes after years of planning and a heavy process to seek approval to begin scheduled services. This saw the airline face several delays over its initial expected launch of 2022.

Bonza will operate in underserved markets with an exclusive Boeing 737 MAX fleet. Bonza’s CEO, Tim Jordan, says that the airline has greatly benefitted from the 737 MAX’s availability through 777 partners, one of the airline’s business partners. In addition, acquiring essentially new 737 MAX aircraft with desirable deliveries allowed the airline to kickstart its launch.

Our team of legends couldn’t be more excited to begin connecting Aussies for holidays and time with loved ones. What better place to start than arguably two of the country’s favourite holiday destinations. Whether you are snorkelling the Whitsunday Islands or grabbing a cold one in the craft beer capital of Australia – the Sunshine Coast – we are humbled to take you there

The airline has reported that the ability to book a seat via the app has led them to see already 10,000+ seats sold. Thus far, the airline has only unveiled phase one of its route network. As more aircraft arrive, the airline expects to roll out more destinations around Australia.

Bonza is truly for Australia, with the onboard menu being all Aussie. Local menu partners have all been selected, with food and drink coming from across the country.

Sunshine Coast will be home to Bonza, with Melbourne eventually being a secondary hub. Thanks to the commitment with Sunshine Coast over the next 12 months, an additional 772,000 seats will be available in the region generating more than 86 million in visitor expenditure.
