Australia’s newest low-cost airline Bonza has announced flights are bookable via its app.
The airline will operate the Boeing 737 MAX to destinations it calls “regional gems.” Flights begin on January 31st from Sunshine Coast to Whitsunday Coast. Sunshine Coast is the airline’s central hub, with Melbourne soon being a secondary.
The wait is over! 2023 is the Year for Allstralia, with low cost air travel to many holiday spots, some of which are relatively undiscovered. It’s time to see more of your own backyard for less.
Carly Povey, Chief Commercial Officer at Bonza.
Some of the airline’s busiest routes include Sunshine Coast to Cairns, with 5 weekly flights beginning at $79. Newcastle will see 4 flights per week starting at $59, followed by Townsville with 4 flights per week. Flights start at $69. Other destinations include Albury, Avalon, Coffs Harbour, Mackay, Mildura, Port Macquarie, Rockhampton and Townsville, all from Sunshine Coast. Meanwhile, it’ll offer Cairns to Rockhampton and Mackay, Newcastle to Whitsunday Coast and Rockhampton to Townsville.

Bonza says that its initial flight schedule is part of phase one of flights. As more aircraft arrive, its network will only grow, moving into its secondary hub of Melbourne Airport.
Bonza has remained sure that it doesn’t intend to try and replicate the network of existing Australian airlines, instead focusing on its market. This is a market their CEO Tim Jordan says will see underserved regional towns and cities benefit greatly.
Am excited to see how Bonza will shake up the Australian Market!
I agree as well. As an Australian, I’m excited to see what they’ll do, and it’ll be nice to see a new tail at airports!
What happens to Bundaberg to Melbourne?
Bundaberg to Melbourne was promised…did I miss something?
This is phase one of the flights. More will come with time.
