ANA Star Wars Jets Saved

Special liveries, despite their uniqueness, rarely last long on their respective airframe before being repainted. For aviation enthusiasts, it’s often met with sadness.

Some of the more iconic special liveries currently flying are All Nippon Airways’ set of Star Wars-themed jets, featuring on the Boeing 777 and Boeing 787. The two liveries respectively highlight popular drops C3PO and R2D2. Previously another 777 wore a scheme promoting BB-8. However, this was repainted in 2022.

All Nippon Airways confirmed last week that the pair would continue flying domestically and internationally in their Star Wars theme.

The news was overwhelmingly welcomed by enthusiasts and flyers around the globe that love themed jets such as these. Scoot has a Pokemon jet, which is praised for providing a unique flying experience to its customers.

ANA has released a schedule of the flights from March 26th to October 28th that the jets can be seen on. However, it must be noted that only these routes can be operated by the jets. In addition, the aircraft may not operate for these routes every day. For example, it may fly to Houston one day and then Paris the next.

  1. Being the Star Wars geek that I am, I will pay closer attention to the comings and goings out of LAX in hopes of seeing these planes. Thank you ANA for allowing the skies to be filled with such joy awhile longer. Planespotters appreciate this mightily!!!
