Alaska Airlines has announced plans to continue expansion from Portland with the commencement of a new route in 2024.

Nashville Service To Come In 2024

Alaska Airlines is looking to add another service towards the Pacific Northwest, which it describes as a highly sought-after market.

Portland to Nashville is the latest route announcement that comes from the carrier. Service will resume on March 14, 2024, and be operated by a 737.

Alaska says flights are expected to operate year-round. The service will run daily to cater to the growing demand and the commitment to expansion from Portland.

The flight will depart Portland at 0900 before arriving in Nashville at 1520. After spending just over an hour on the ground, the 737 will leave Nashville at 1625 before returning to Portland in 1935.

Alaska Airlines notes that it will be the only airline now offering nonstop service between Portland and Nashville. Connecting the Rose City with the Music City will highlight the love of food, dynamic music and vibrant culture.

Portland to Nashville will only be served by one carrier nonstop, Alaska Airlines. Departure times in the morning from Portland and a late afternoon departure from Nashville have been timed with the primary mission of enabling convenience to customers.

When this route commences, it’ll be the 53rd nonstop destination from Portland. This further solidifies the airline’s place as the largest carrier in Portland for over 20 years.

Additionally, Alaska can proudly say it now offers more destinations nonstop out of Portland outside of the Pacific Northwest than before the pandemic.

Comments From Executive

We’re always focused on better connecting the Pacific Northwest with new nonstops in our network. We know there’s a strong desire by our guests for an easier way to travel between Portland and Nashville. Our new flight will link a pair of exciting regions that both have wide-ranging, festive entertainment and sports scenes as well as growing business centers.

Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines.

Portland Gets More Expansion

Away from the newly announced Nashville route coming in 2024, there will be two further routes launching/relaunching out of Portland in late November.

On November 17, 2023, the airline will begin new nonstop flights from Portland to Miami. On November 23, 2023, the carrier will resume seasonal flights between Portland and Redmond/Bend.

This all works alongside the previously resumed flights to Vancouver from Portland that occurred in June.
