Air New Zealand takes delivery of first A321neo
Air New Zealand’s first Airbus A321neo is minutes away from touching down in Auckland, New Zealand after completing its long trek from Europe.
ZK-NNA, the first A321neo with the airline is painted in the ‘All Black’ special livery. A livery which is featured on every single aircraft within the Air New Zealand fleet. The aircraft is completing the final leg of its journey home. The last leg of the delivery flight originated in Cairns, Australia and has an estimated arrival time of 10:24pm NZDT on the 5th of November, 2018.
The A321neo is the first of 13 new aircraft that was ordered by the airline. The aircraft will gradually replace the current fleet of the A320s which operate on Transtasman services with the carrier and also to Pacific Islands.
The aircraft has had to make a number of stops during its delivery flight due to its shorter range and lengthy journey to Auckland. With the flight beginning in Hamburg, the A321neo stopped over in Muscat, Singapore and finally Cairns.
