Air France will launch new flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) in May 2027 as part of a sweeping expansion in the United States.

The French flag-carrier previously operated limited services to the California city but is now establishing a scheduled route, launching on 3 May with an Airbus A350-900 and operating three times a week.

For Air France, the service is part of a broader U.S. network expansion that also includes Nashville for the 2027 Northern Summer programme.

Air France flights to San Diego confirmed

Flights on the Paris-to-San Diego route will operate three times a week. This aligns closely with the airline’s previously announced expansion into the United States, where cities will begin with three flights and then scale up if demand supports it in upcoming schedules.

Air France will schedule departures from Paris on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The published information shows AF58 departs Paris at 1010 and arrives in San Diego at 1250 the same day; these times are local to their respective cities.

Meanwhile, the return service AF59 departs San Diego at 1510 and reaches Paris the following morning at 1105. These times are optimised to spend the rest of the day in Paris for leisure or business and to allow enough time for transfers on deeper domestic or European services from the hub.

Tickets for the service are expected to go on sale in the coming week, with the Airbus A350-900 selected for deployment and as a primary feature of Air France’s United States network.

San Diego now sees regular Air France service

Air France’s launch of scheduled passenger flights to San Diego in 2027 offers a chance to restore the regularity of operations previously seen. In the past, the airline offered limited services from the 2010s through April 2026.

Ultimately, these limited services did not establish a consistent scheduled route, but AF58/59 will begin in May 2027. The thrice-weekly programme ensures that the airline offers service during the peak Northern summer season.

Nashville joins San Diego

Air France is heavily committed to the United States and has expanded its total cities served in recent years, and 2027 is shaping up to be another year when the country is a top priority.

The company will also launch flights between Paris and Nashville International Airport (BNA) on 14 May 2027, with three flights a week, also on the Airbus A350-900. The airline will be the only carrier linking Nashville with continental Europe, according to its own comments.

Together, therefore, Nashville and San Diego bring Air France’s U.S. network to around the 20 figure and mean the business will offer some of its best connectivity to the country ever seen, during the peak Northern summer schedule when demand jumps.
