Air Astana will grow its fleet of aircraft up to 80 units as it looks to expand, new additions will include the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Air Astana has announced plans to substantially grow its fleet of aircraft as it looks to expand its operations. This expansion will reflect Group-wide and include FlyArystan.

FlyArystan is the low-cost carrier within the Group that operates a fleet of Airbus A320ceo and A3210neo aircraft. The company’s A320neos have 188 seats, while the A320ceos have 180 seats.

More Aircraft Coming Soon

The company says that the fleet has grown to 50 aircraft thanks to the delivery of a new Airbus A321neo from the final assembly line in Hamburg, Germany.

However, the appetite to continue growing remains, and the carrier believes it can successfully implement a strategy to meet this appetite.

Air Astana will aim to increase its fleet to 80 units by the end of 2028 as part of its long-term strategy.

An Overview Of The Air Astana Group

Several leading aircraft types are used across the Air Astana Group. However, their purposes with the mainline and low-cost brands differ in several ways.

The most noticeable is the A320neo. This is the only fleet type that operates at Air Astana and FlyArystan. However, the configurations differ significantly with the low-cost unit using an all-economy 188-seater aircraft. Meanwhile, Air Astana has 16 business class seats and 132 economy seats on its A320neo.

The airline has three Boeing 767s in service. In addition to the 767, the company also flies the A321LR, A321, and A321neo to offer customers flexible travel options.

Additionally, 5 Embraer E190 E2s are operational in the fleet. Across the Group, the average fleet is about 5.2 years old, making it relatively young.

Looking ahead, the airline will welcome the Boeing 787, which will allow for further international expansion and launch to new destinations that weren’t previously possible due to limitations with current aircraft.
